Stephan Fischer

Preserving History

Former Mayor of Cedarburg E. Stephan Fischer (1908 – 1995, Cedarburg, WI) is credited with preserving the integrity and charm of the historical downtown. This exhibition connects the brushstrokes of a talented painter with the thoughtfulness of an architectural preservationist, offering a unique glimpse into the coexistence of governance and artistic expression. Through a collection of charcoal and pencil drawings, oil and watercolor paintings, and ceramic sculptures preserved by his family, discover the dual legacy of a leader whose diverse skills and interests nurtured the cultural and historical fabric of the community he served.
